Discussion

Low pressure will head to our northwest today and will spread some rain into the area this afternoon and evening. While the precipitation amounts will be heavier than Tuesday’s system, it will not be a heavy rain event with 0.25 inches of rain or less expected by later tonight. High pressure will build back into the region on Friday and will stick around into the weekend; however, then attention will turn to the southeast US as a storm will gather strength by early Sunday. The storm track from that point on is still in question, but the threat continues for a Mid-Atlantic coastal storm late in the upcoming weekend that could spread snow or rain into the area. Some of the models continue to push the storm to our south, but that appears to be an unlikely scenario so the main question will likely come down to precipitation types and amounts. Stay tuned.
