Discussion
The combination of a strong high pressure system to our north and a double-barrel low pressure system will bring a chilly rain into the region on Wednesday after a dry, cooler Tuesday. Rain should arrive during the early-morning hours on Wednesday and it will fall heavily at times during the mid-day and afternoon hours. A few more showers are possible tomorrow night, but the heavy rain should be over. The next system to affect us will be a strong cold front on Saturday that will bring more rain here and possibly a strong thunderstorm as well. Elsewhere, a major snowstorm is set to hit the Dakotas, Minnesota and western Wisconsin tonight and tomorrow with more than a foot of snow in spots. Also, upstate New York and interior New England will get significant snow and ice on Wednesday and Thursday.
