Low-level moisture continues to help in the production of early morning low clouds and fog around here, but sunshine will once again return by late morning and temperatures will soar once again to the mid 70’s. The warmest day of the week is likely to be on Thursday when temperatures could reach the 80 degree mark along with partial afternoon sunshine and breezy conditions. A noticeable cooling trend; however, will take place this weekend and at the same time the threat for showers will increase as the much weakened remains of the heavy rain that has been plaguing the south-central states heads in our direction. The weekend cooling trend will likely reverse course early next week, but probably not to the same lofty levels that we've experienced this week. Elsewhere, more heavy rain will fall today in two separate parts of the country including the Deep South from Arkansas to Louisiana, and the Pacific Northwest from Washington to northern California. Also, the cherry blossoms remain in full bloom in downtown DC and will so for the next few days as our incredible March continues with temperatures averaging some 10 degrees above normal.
