Discussion
A storm system to our north will pinwheel around over the next couple of days and, from this position, will send colder air into the Mid-Atlantic for the mid-week. In fact, temperatures should average below normal tomorrow and Thursday before milder air returns this weekend. It actually can get just cold enough for snow showers to occur in the higher elevations of central and northern New York State over the next couple of days, and frost is possible here in the northern and western suburbs of the NYC metro region both Wednesday and Thursday nights. As far as precipitation is concerned, while a shower can occur at just about anytime from later today into Thursday, the vast majority of the time will be rain-free and precipitation amounts would be on the light side. The weekend, however, could bring an increasing threat for showers as the milder air returns.
