Drought-busting rains on the order of 2-3 inches fell around here this weekend thanks to a strong cold frontal passage on Saturday night and the powerful coastal storm of Sunday and Sunday night. While the steadiest and heaviest rains from the storm have passed us by to our north, there will be leftover showers today and temperatures will hold in the chilly 50's. The coastal storm will work its way inland today from its current location right near New York City as it will head northwest towards the southwestern part of New York State by later tonight. Meanwhile, it is cold enough for heavy, wet accumulating snow across central and western New York and power outages may be the result throughout that region from downed tree limbs by tonight. It is now snowing in Buffalo and accumulating snow can occur today all the way east to Ithaca. Damp, chilly weather will continue here on Tuesday and Wednesday.
