Discussion
A cold front passed through the region overnight and today will feature cool, dry and windy conditions with gusts up to 30 mph or so. There will be plenty of sunshine to close out the work week, but temperatures will stay well-below normal for late April. Temperatures tonight will drop to near freezing in many spots well to the N and W of the District as the winds diminish under partly cloudy skies. Meanwhile, the front that passed through last night has stalled out just to our south in an east-to-west fashion and this will allow moisture to ride along it to the east coast from the middle of the country. As a result, showers are likely in the region later tomorrow and tomorrow night, but then clearing should set in on Sunday. A warming trend will begin early next week, but showers and thunderstorms will threaten by mid-week.
