Discussion
After a chilly weekend in the Mid-Atlantic that included near freezing temperatures, a warming trend will take place this week, but the weather will become unsettled with the threat for showers or thunderstorms from time-to-time. High pressure should control the weather today and it may be the only day of the work week with no chance for showers. A warm front will usher in milder air on Tuesday, but it will bring us the chance for late night and morning showers. Later in the week, a weak cool front will drop in from the Great Lakes and that too will give us a threat for an occasional shower as it will hang around the Mid-Atlantic. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday could actually spike well up into the 70's ahead of another weak cool front, but this early May warm weather does not look like it will be a harbinger of things to come for the month of May. In fact, there are signs that there will be cooler-than-normal air masses affecting the Mid-Atlantic region over the next couple of weeks.
