Discussion
After a chilly weekend in the Mid-Atlantic that included near freezing temperatures, a warming trend will take place this week, but the weather will become unsettled with the threat for a shower or thunderstorm from time-to-time. High pressure should control the weather today, and it may be the only day of the work week with no chance for showers. A warm front will usher in milder air on Tuesday, but it will bring us the chance for late night and morning showers and thunderstorms. Later in the week, a weak cool front will drop in from the Great Lakes and that too will give us a threat for an occasional shower or thunderstorm as it will hang around the Mid-Atlantic. Friday's temperatures could actually spike well up into the 80's ahead of another weak cool front, but this early May warm weather does not look like it will be a harbinger of things to come for the month of May. In fact, there are signs that there will be cooler-than-normal air masses affecting the Mid-Atlantic region over the next couple of weeks.
