Discussion
The low pressure area that has been spinning well to our north and east will gradually pull away from the area on Thursday, but an afternoon shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. High pressure will gradually build in over the Mid-Atlantic and will generally dominate the weather scene by the weekend; however, an isolated thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out late Saturday or Saturday night especially well north of the District. Temperatures will climb as we progress through the weekend with the increasing amounts of sunshine and the southwesterly flow of air that will develop so that by Sunday and Monday we will flirt with the 90 degree mark.
