Discussion
The high temperature yesterday was 98 degrees at Reagan National Airport (not a record), but today's record of 98 set in 1923 is well within reach. Hot, humid weather will continue here today, but a downward trend in temperatures will begin on Friday as a cold front approaches the region. The front will add cloud cover to the skies on Friday and there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms and some of the storms can get quite strong. Temperatures tomorrow afternoon just ahead of the front should be in the low 90's. While still warm on Saturday and Sunday, overall conditions will improve as lower humidity values will make it feel better. Another front will approach the area early next week and we’ll likely turn even cooler by the middle of next week.
