Discussion
We’ll be dealing with a couple of cold fronts this week and the first one will approach later today setting off rounds of showers and thunderstorms from mid-morning on, and some of the rain will be heavy at times. This morning round of heavy showers and embedded storms will be followed by a break in the action, and then more action could develop for later today and tonight. Similar to last week, this frontal passage will be associated with strong upper-level support; consequently, some of the storms that develop can be quite strong. A second cold front will approach the area later Friday and this will bring us another chance for showers and storms to close out the work week. The overall weather pattern is undergoing a change here as the Plains, Midwest and East look to be cooler for the foreseeable time and highs this weekend could actually hold in the 70’s for parts of the Mid-Atlantic.
