First the good news - it could be sunny and 60 degrees by Sunday. Now the bad news - we might have to endure our first accumulating snow of the season before we get there. A storm will develop today in the Southeast US and then it will move offshore and ride up parallel to the coastline reaching the Mid-Atlantic latitudes on Wednesday and then to just off the New England coast by Thursday. This track will bring rain and wind to coastal regions and accumulating snows in inland locations from Pennsylvania northward into Maine. There is a good chance that the rain changes to accumulating snow in or near the big cities of DC, Philly, NYC and Boston along the I-95 corridor as the storm pulls to the northeast. Once this system passes by, the overall weather pattern will change for awhile and significant improvement will take place with noticeably milder conditions by the late weekend and continuing into early next week.
