A compact nor’easter will ride up along the coast over the next couple of days and it will bring rain and wind to coastal regions and accumulating snows to inland locations along the I-95 corridor. Cold air is entrenched in the Mid-Atlantic region and, given the expected track of tomorrow’s nor’easter, it should hold firm allowing for precipitation to change to snow in inland locations. In fact, a quick burst of snow later tomorrow and tomorrow night is likely to bring a few inches of accumulation to the I-95 strip from BWI to Philly to the N and W suburbs of NYC. The DC metro region may also receive some snow, but that area is likely to be on the southwestern edge of the accumulating snows. Philly, on the other hand, could very well end up being in the bullseye region for the most snow later tomorrow and tomorrow night with an outside shot at several inches of snow. The best chance for problems to develop on the roads will occur later tomorrow afternoon and evening as temperatures drop and the snow falls at a pretty good clip. Winds will be quite noticeable around here during the storm gusting up to 40 mph or so and very strong down at the Jersey shore (where they don’t need it) with gusts up to 60 mph possible.
