1:50 PM | Snow closing in on the Philly metro region

Snow continues to advance to the east from western and central PA and will likely reach the Philly metro region between 3 and 4 PM. It has just started snowing in State College, Harrisburg and Gettysburg and about an hour ago Pittsburgh actually reported heavy snow at 13 degrees. Accumulations and deterioration in roads will happen quickly after the snow begins given the extreme cold ground-level conditions. Snow moves out of here later this evening as this system is a rather quick mover with accumulations on the order of 1-3 inches. After a cold weekend, there can be some frozen precipitation issues to deal with early Monday.
