A line of severe thunderstorms is closing in on the DC metro region from the west and may contain damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or more as well as torrential downpours. A tornado watch has been issued by the NWS for the entire DC metro region as this particular line is quite dangerous and could spawn a few tornadoes. Flash flooding is quite likely over the next couple of hours as this line moves through the DC metro region. Do not drive on any road that is covered by water as there is simply no way to tell how deep the water is. Best advice – stay indoors, away from windows.
