Discussion
Thunderstorms will arrive shortly in the NYC metro region and they will be numerous and strong-to-severe and widespread flash flooding is the likely result as yet another cool front approaches the region. Several inches of rain will fall in many locations in a short period of time - do not approach any roadways with high standing water. The rain will taper off for the afternoon hours, but additional showers and storms are still possible. High pressure will follow the frontal system for the second half of the week with refreshing temperatures and comfortable humidity levels.
