Discussion
A weak frontal system generated a band of showers last night that dropped southward through Pennsylvania in the overnight hours and it has cleared the skies for this morning in the southeastern part of the state. As a result, sunshine will be abundant today and temperatures will climb to very warm levels into the upper 80's (normal high at PHL is now 84 degrees). Another frontal system will approach the region on Wednesday and continue our unsettled weather pattern with a renewed threat of showers and thunderstorms. Weak high pressure will follow for the second part of the week, but additional showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. The highest temperatures relative to normal over the next few days will be across the Plains and Midwest in a reversal of a pattern that brought them cool weather for much of the prior part of the month.
