Discussion
The heaviest snow from this storm pushed to the south of us along with an influx of brutally cold and dense Arctic air; however, there will be snow in much of the area through the morning hours. Snow will accumulate today from a coating to a inch or two across the northern suburbs and 2-4 inches in southern parts of the region and roadways will be quite slick with a layer of ice under the fresh snowfall. Temperatures today will hold nearly steady in the upper teens – way below normal for early March – and then they will plunge tonight to record-breaking lows near 0 degrees in many suburban locations. Very cold conditions on Tuesday will give way to milder conditions later week.
