Discussion
Low pressure is pulling away from our region this morning and today will feature gradual clearing skies with and increasing wind and mild conditions. Temperatures will take a small step backwards on Wednesday despite sunshine as a stiff NW wind pushes in slightly cooler air for the Mid-Atlantic region. It’ll turn milder again on Thursday and Friday, but a frontal system could bring some shower activity as we close out the work week. After a possible shower or two early on Saturday, the weekend should turn out to be quite pleasant with mainly dry and mild conditions.
Looking ahead, colder air is likely to arrive into the Mid-Atlantic region and Northeast US by the middle of next week at the same time a coastal low pressure system could ride up the east coast. The result could even be snow for some of the higher elevation interior locations of the Northeast U.S. (e.g., Appalachians).
