Discussion

Even though there are plenty of low clouds and some light rain around this morning, it will not turn out to be an instant replay of yesterday as the moisture will get outta here this afternoon in time for the Phillies 4PM home opener. In fact, by the time we are ready to make the long drive for the home run late today, the roads should be completely dried out thanks to an increasing westerly wind. Generally, comfortable weather will dominate the scene on Wednesday and Thursday with mild conditions and no high heat, but then a frontal system will slide through the area on Friday. Unlike recent frontal systems, this one will only have a short stop in the region and while we may have to sacrifice a bit with showers on Friday night and very early Saturday, the weekend should be a double play of nice days.

Looking ahead, mother nature may throw us a curve ball by the middle of next week with the return of some colder air into the eastern half of the country. At the same time, strong low pressure may ride up the east coast, and it is not out in left field to say that there might even be some snow as a result of all this in some of the higher elevation locations of the interior northeastern U.S. (e.g. Appalachian Mountains).
