Yet another disturbance will drop to the southeast today from the Great Lakes region and it should generate rain in the area this afternoon and evening and there can be snowflakes mixed in at times; especially, well to the north and west of the metro region. In areas to the north of Route I-80, today's event will feature more snow than rain and higher elevation locations like the Poconos can receive a few inches of snowfall by later tonight. Precipitation winds down later this evening from the fast-moving clipper system - perhaps even as all snow in some of the N and W suburbs. Wednesday will turn out to be quite breezy and cold for the first day of April. Much milder air will advance northward into our region on Thursday and then Friday stays quite mild, but showers will be quite likely as the next cold front approaches from the northwest. Colder air will follow the late week frontal system just in time for the upcoming Easter weekend.
