Discussion

Low pressure will ride along a boundary zone towards the Mid-Atlantic coastline over the next 24 hours or so and it'll produce some significant rainfall in the DC metro region. In fact, it appears the steadiest, heaviest rain associated with this low pressure system will fall in and around the DC metro region, across the Delmarva Peninsula, and northward to the PA/MD border. Once the low pressure pushes off the east coast, high pressure will build back into the region and the weekend will turn out quite nice with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels.
