Discussion

A strong cold front will approach the region today generating occasional showers and possible strong thunderstorms. It’ll stay very warm ahead of this front and quite muggy with temperatures likely reaching well into the 70’s for highs in the NYC metro region. Saturday promises to be a cooler day with possible showers and then a strong second cold front will arrive tomorrow night. This second front will cause winds to pick up dramatically on Saturday night and Sunday morning - perhaps with damaging gusts near 60 mph - and rain showers could change to snow showers late Saturday night and early Sunday. Another strong cold front arrives Monday night in this very active weather pattern. Temperatures could drop to near or below freezing in the overnight hours Sunday through Wednesday.
