Discussion
The next cold front will arrive in the Mid-Atlantic region later today and it could spark a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms. By tomorrow, noticeably cooler air will return as high pressure builds in from the Upper Midwest. Given the warm sun this time of year (i.e., warm low-levels) and the cold air expected in the upper atmosphere on Wednesday, there can be enough instability to generate a few showers and perhaps even a thunderstorm. High pressure will continue to control the weather around here on Thursday and then a warm front will approach by week’s end.
