Discussion

It’ll stay quite warm and humid today with highs not far from 90 degrees to end the work week, but there is relief coming this weekend as a cold front pushes through the region. As the front arrives later today, there will likely be scattered showers and thunderstorms and an isolated storm can be on the strong-to-severe side. Behind the front, low-level winds will shift from southwest to east-to-northeast and that will bring much cooler air into the region from off of the still-chilly waters of the western Atlantic Ocean. Temperatures this weekend are likely to be held to near 70 degrees for highs on both days. On Monday, a strong cold front is likely to produce showers and thunderstorms up and down the I-95 corridor as it pushes eastward from the Ohio Valley.
