Discussion
A dramatic warm up will begin this weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region and continue into the middle of next week. Temperatures should reach the low 80's for highs this afternoon, mid-to-upper 80’s on Saturday, and then climb past the 90 degree mark on Sunday afternoon. On Monday and Tuesday of next week, temperatures are likely to climb into the low-to-mid 90's and humidity will become quite noticeable. After that, there is likely to be a cool down for the NYC metro region thanks to the passage of a back door cold front. One final note, NASA is now scheduled to launch a sounding rocket at Wallops Island, Virginia on Sunday evening between 9:04 and 9:19 PM. Look to the southeastern horizon to see colorful artificial clouds that should be generated as a way of monitoring upper-level winds.
