Discussion
Strong high pressure has expanded into the Northeast US and it will control our weather right through the weekend. Temperatures and humidity levels will remain quite comfortable around here this weekend for the latter part of August. Elsewhere, the tropics are very active with Hurricane Harvey - now a category 2 storm - about to slam Texas with tremendous amounts of rainfall over the next several days. A second tropical system near Florida is likely to slowly intensify as it churns northeastward along the Southeast US coastline in coming days and it could very well bring some rain here by later Monday and Tuesday.
