Discussion
High pressure that provided us with a nice weekend will push off the New England coastline later today and this will open the door for a soaking rain event in the Mid-Atlantic region. Low pressure will lift slowly northward from the Gulf states to the Mid-Atlantic coastline over the next couple of days and the likely result will be 1-2 inches of rainfall in the DC-to-Philly-to-NYC corridor by the time later Wednesday rolls around. Another low pressure system and cold front may affect the region by the early part of the weekend.
