Discussion
A major warm up begins today in the Mid-Atlantic region and it’ll reach its peak in the Wednesday-to-Friday time frame. Temperatures today should climb right through the 70’s and then 80+ degrees are very likely on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A cool front arrives in the region late Friday and it could be accompanied by some showers and thunderstorms and it’ll turn a bit cooler this weekend following the frontal passage. Elsewhere, it has been a slow tornado season so far this year across the central Plains, but there could be an outbreak of severe weather on Wednesday as a clash develops in that part of the country between very warm, humid advancing northward from the Gulf of Mexico air and cold air sliding eastward across the southwestern US.
