Discussion
Strong upper-level low pressure is situated over the south-central US and it is combining with a Bermuda high pressure system to persistently pump moist air from the tropical Atlantic to the Mid-Atlantic. The threat for showers and thunderstorms will continue right into the early part of the weekend and, given the well-saturated grounds, flash flooding will remain a concern over the next few days. The threat for showers and thunderstorms will diminish for the bulk of the weekend and it'll turn hotter early next week with temperatures climbing back to the 90 degree mark for highs.
