Discussion
An upper-level trough will push into the Great Lakes region later today and this system could generate scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Mid-Atlantic region, and an even better chance around here comes later tomorrow as a cool front arrives from our northwest. Any rain that falls later today, tonight and on Wednesday can be briefly heavy and a few storms can reach strong-to-severe levels. This front will stall out just to our southeast later in the week and then potentially impact our weekend weather as low pressure might develop along its boundary zone. The annual Perseid meteor shower peaks this weekend and the weather from this vantage point does not look too promising for viewing.
