Discussion

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a warm frontal passage will pull away later this morning and the afternoon promises to become quite warm and humid with partial sunshine. The second half of the week will feature the first extended stretch of summer weather so far this year in the Mid-Atlantic region with high temperatures near 90 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A couple of weak disturbances this weekend could bring a return of showers and thunderstorms to the Mid-Atlantic region and it should turn slightly cooler early next week.
