Discussion
An unsettled week will today in the Tennessee Valley as a slow-moving upper-level low meanders over the area and it will hang around for another couple of days. This system will destabilize the atmosphere and increase the chances for showers and thunderstorms on a daily basis for the next few days and any storm that forms can be on the strong side. The overall pattern evolves into a summer-like one by the end of the week and highs on Friday and both days this weekend will be in the mid-to-upper 80's. Elsewhere, Tropical Storm Arthur will head on out-to-sea today after hitting the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Monday with gusty winds and heavy rain bands.
