Discussion
A strong cold front pushed through the region last night and today will turn out to be much cooler with afternoon temperatures confined to the 60’s for highs. A stiff breeze will develop as well with N-NW winds likely gusting to 20 mph during the mid-day and afternoon hours. As is often the case later in the spring season, cold snaps will modify rather quickly, and we’ll experience temperatures climbing back to near the 80-degree mark later in the week. Looking ahead, a strong storm will form over the central Plains this weekend and its trailing cold front could bring us a round of showers and thunderstorms from later Saturday into Sunday.
