There will be a rocket launch early tonight at NASA’s Wallops Island facility and it should be visible in much of the Mid-Atlantic region. The launch window begins at 6pm and the weather should be very favorable with moderate winds (and far less than yesterday) and clear-to-partly cloudy skies.

Originally scheduled for March 11th, the two-times-scrubbed launch of Rocket Lab’s 59-foot tall Electron rocket is now slated for early tonight with a 6 to 8pm launch window. The launch is a dedicated mission for Capella Space, a leading US satellite manufacturer and Earth observation company. This mission will deliver to orbit two more Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites that enable Capella Space to deliver highest quality, highest resolution SAR imagery commercially available. This launch is the 1st of 5 missions for Capella Space this year across two continents to deploy their SAR imaging constellation.
