Discussion
High pressure will edge into the Mid-Atlantic region from later today into Wednesday and then a cold front will slide through on Wednesday night. Following the frontal passage, it’ll be quite chilly on Thursday, but then it turns milder on Friday with the chance of PM showers. The weekend will feature the passage of a strong cold front on Saturday night and there will be big temperature differences between Saturday and Sunday. Windy and warm conditions are likely on Saturday ahead of a strong cold front with highs near 70 degrees and there are likely to be occasional showers…maybe even a strong thunderstorm. There is the potential on Saturday for damaging wind gusts as the strong cold front first approaches and then passes through the region. Despite some sunshine on Sunday, it’ll be noticeably cooler following the frontal passage with temperatures some 15-20 degrees lower than on Saturday and there will likely be a stiff NW breeze as well.
