Discussion
High pressure will push off the coast this morning and a southwesterly flow of air will develop on its backside resulting in milder air pushing into the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures should climb well up into the 70’s this afternoon and then flirt with the 80 degree mark on Thursday (Halloween Day). A cold front will cross the region on Friday and it can produce a few showers around here from late Thursday night into Friday morning. High pressure follows for the weekend resulting in nice, fall-like weather likely with plenty of sunshine on both days.
A couple other notes, the dry streak continues across the Philadelphia metro region now with 31 consecutive days without measurable precipitation at PHL (Philly Int’l Airport). This is indeed a new record for consecutive dry days beating the old one of 29 days that was set way back in 1874. Finally, it is time once again to turn the clocks back an hour as of 2AM Sunday...a sure sign that winter is on the way.
