Discussion
The opener for the Mets is scheduled for 1:15pm later today and it’ll become quite mild and breezy for their first game with high temperatures in the lower 70’s. A strong cold front closes in on the area later tonight and it’ll bring us periods of rain, maybe a thunderstorm, from later tonight into tomorrow morning. On the back side of the front, winds will shift to a north-to-northwest direction on Friday leading to a colder-than-normal weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures on Saturday will likely do no better than the lower 40’s for afternoon highs despite plenty of sunshine and it stays on the cool side to close out the weekend. Much milder weather returns to the Mid-Atlantic region during the early part of next week as strong high pressure ridging that has been parked over the western US in recent days slides in this direction.
