Discussion
The opener for the Phillies is scheduled for 4:15pm later today and it’ll become quite mild and breezy for their first game with high temperatures in the lower 70’s. A strong cold front closes in on the area later tonight and it’ll bring us periods of rain, maybe a thunderstorm, from later tonight into tomorrow morning. On the back side of the front, winds will shift to a north-to-northwest direction on Friday leading to a colder-than-normal weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures on Saturday will likely do no better than the low-to-mid 40’s for afternoon highs despite plenty of sunshine and it stays on the cool side to close out the weekend. Much milder weather returns to the Mid-Atlantic region during the early part of next week as strong high pressure ridging that has been parked over the western US in recent days slides in this direction.
