The main players across the country this week will be an upper-level ridge of high pressure over the Northern Rockies/southwestern Canada and an upper-level low over the northeastern US/southeastern Canada. As a result, warmer-than-normal weather will continue across the Northern Plains and Pacific Northwest - as was the case for much of July - and it’ll be somewhat cooler-than-normal for much of the week in the eastern US. Locally, unsettled conditions will continue today across the Tennessee Valley with the chance of showers and storms, but drier air will reduce that threat as we move into the day on Tuesday.

Much of the nation will experience warmer-than-normal conditions this week as upper-level high pressure ridging intensifies over the central part of the nation. Our high temperatures are likely to be in the 90-95 degree range for the next few days and there will be a continuing chance of showers and thunderstorms.
