Low-level flow from the southeast will bring in more humid air later today and this will increase the chances for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms after what has been a dry stretch of weather. Temperatures will remain in the comfortable 80’s for highs, but building high pressure ridging going into the weekend will lead to hotter weather across northern Alabama. A comfortable air mass that pushed into our area earlier this week will stay in place for another couple of days resulting in afternoon highs generally in the mid-to-upper 80’s. High pressure will shift to the east of here late in the week and this repositioning will open the door for hotter air to push in from southwest of here.
