Today will be quite nice with a southerly flow of air and then high pressure will push to the east by later tonight. By tomorrow, a vigorous wave of energy will approach and it’ll become more unstable here with an increase in winds and the threat of strong-to-severe thunderstorms by late in the day and especially tomorrow night. A strong high pressure system will move across Florida as we begin the new work week and it’ll result in mild conditions around here. As the high pushes off the coast in coming days our low-level winds will become southerly and a warming trend will take place. High temperatures this afternoon will be near the 70 degree mark, but 80 degrees is more likely by later in the week.

Rain chances will increase here by early tonight as deeper moisture pushes in from the southwest. There is even the chance later tonight for an isolated thunderstorm. Deeper moisture will push in as a result and this will increase the chance of showers later tomorrow and tomorrow night. The pattern aloft remains mainly zonal (i.e., west-to-east) as an upper-level trough of low pressure moves across the southern states. This system will weaken as it reaches the SE US, but it’ll still be able to produce some shower activity in this area late tonight and early tomorrow.
