PHL Thursday Forecast - Another record-breaker possible today, but temperature trend is down after today while thunderstorm threat is up
Paul Dorian
Philly Int’l airport recorded a record high yesterday as the thermometer reached 97 degrees. The record of 98 degrees for today is in jeopardy as well as we will experience one more brutally hot day before a downward trend in temperatures begins tomorrow. A weak cool front will cross the region tonight causing some scattered strong thunderstorms that could possibly interrupt the Phillies/Cubs game. Once this front drops south of here, it will stall out and our weather will remain unsettled right through the weekend. Another shower or thunderstorm is possible tomorrow with highs in the upper 80’s – some 10 degrees lower than today. The weekend will bring a few showers and thunderstorms each day with high temperatures in the low 80’s before yet another front slides through from the west later on Sunday. The early part of next week will be quite nice with sunshine and highs in the upper 70’s. Today- brutal heat and humidity with plenty of sunshine, a late day thunderstorm is possible, highs in the upper 90’s, perhaps another record-breaker
Tonight- scattered strong thunderstorms, mild, lows near 70
Fri- partly sunny, still very warm, but not like today, a shower or thunderstorm possible, upper 80’s
Sat- mostly cloudy, a few showers and thunderstorms likely, low 80’s
Sun- mostly cloudy, a few showers and thunderstorms likely, low 80’s
Mon- mostly sunny, pleasant, upper 70’s
Tues- mostly sunny, still pleasant, upper 70’s
