9:30 PM Severe weather threat late Monday; brutal heat possible Thurs-Sat
Paul Dorian
Strong-to-severe thunderstorms are possible later in the day on Monday or Monday night as a frontal system approaches from the west. This front will be accompanied by higher heat and humidity on Monday as highs flirt with 90 degrees, but this early week heat is likely to be topped during the latter part of the new week. A massive heat shield will expand to the Mid-Atlantic region for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday time frame from the middle of the country and highs here on those days could very well reach 95 degrees with isolated thunderstorms. Tonight- clear, still pretty comfortable, lows in the upper 60’s
Sun- mostly sunny, very warm and more humid, near 90
Mon- partly sunny, hot and humid, near 90; strong-to-severe thunderstorm possible late in the day or early at night
Tues- partly sunny, hot and humid, chance for another shower or thunderstorm, near 90
Wed- partly sunny, very warm, near 90
Thurs- partly sunny, very hot and humid with an isolated thunderstorm, near 95
Fri- mainly sunny, very hot and humid with an isolated thunderstorm, near 95
Sat- partly sunny, very hot and humid with an isolated thunderstorm, near 95
