9:00 AM Brutal heat later this week with 100 degrees possible Thurs/Fri/Sat
Paul Dorian
This will likely be the hottest week of the year so far in the DC region and temperatures on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will probably reach 100 degrees. A frontal system will drop down from the north overnight and it could spark a strong thunderstorm or two overnight and again on Tuesday, but the best threat for severe weather will likely hold to our north across Pennsylvania. Once that front turns around and advances northward as a warm front during the mid-week, it’ll open the doors for the blistering heat that has been confined to the middle of the country in recent weeks to advance to the east coast and highs late this week will threaten the 100 degree mark. Today- mostly sunny, hot and humid, mid 90’s
Tonight- chance for a strong thunderstorm, very warm and humid, lows near 75
Tues- partly sunny, hot and humid, chance for a strong thunderstorm, low 90’s
Wed- partly sunny, hot and humid, isolated thunderstorm, mid 90’s
Thurs- blistering heat and humidity, isolated thunderstorm, near 100
Fri- mainly sunny, brutal heat and humidity, isolated thunderstorm, near 100
Sat- partly sunny, brutal heat once again, isolated thunderstorm, near 100
