Discussion
The middle of the country has suffered with a massive heat wave over the last several weeks and the atmospheric wheels are in motion to propel that air into the Mid-Atlantic region for the late week. The worst of the upcoming heat wave here will occur on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with high temperatures likely to reach 100 degrees. For today, clouds will hold down temperatures somewhat this morning, but then afternoon sunshine will boost highs well up into the 90’s and a couple of thunderstorms can develop. The first chance for a little relief may come on Sunday as slightly less hot air tries to sneak down the east coast from New England, but until then excessive heat and humidity will rule.
