Discussion
Heavy showers and strong thunderstorms moved slowly through the region yesterday paving the way for a slightly less humid air mass. Many parts of the Philadelphia metropolitan region made up for the recent dry spell with some areas receiving more than one month’s worth of rain in a relatively short period of time. Up to 4 inches of rain was reported in parts of Chester County where little rain had fallen during the past few weeks. The slightly less humid air will make today and tomorrow feel more comfortable than it has been, but another furnace-like blast of air will blow into the region late this week with Friday likely being the worst day of the next heat wave. Temperatures on Friday should soar well up into the 90’s with slight relief occurring during the upcoming weekend.
