4:45 PM | Strong storms to affect Virginia suburbs and I-95 region in northern Maryland

Strong thunderstorms are closing in on the western (Virginia) suburbs of the District and will produce heavy rain and strong, gusty winds over the next two hours. Additionally, some strong storms are moving southeast to between Baltimore and DC across I-95 and the BW Parkway and these storms will cause some driving problems as some heavy rain can fall in a short time along those major driving routes. This storm threat slowly winds down overnight paving the way for more sunshine on the day Tuesday.
