1:00 PM | Significant rain event in the Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday and cold air will follow

Discussion
An energetic upper-level system will spawn the development of a strong surface low pressure system over the Tennessee Valley early in the new week. This low will head to the northeast spreading significant rains into the Mid-Atlantic region on Tuesday and then this storm will be followed by colder air for the mid and late week time periods. The Ohio and Tennessee Valleys may be cold enough during this storm for some snow to fall, but it looks like rain here in the Mid-Atlantic region.
