2:15 PM | Mid-week rain may be a pattern changer to colder weather

Discussion
Mild weather will continue here in the Mid-Atlantic from Sunday into mid-week, but a slow-moving cold front will usher in colder air by late Wednesday or Thursday and the new colder pattern should last at least into the middle part of the month. Several low pressure systems will develop along this slow moving cold front and then, after the last low passes by to our north, colder air will return to the Mid-Atlantic region. There is the chance for some of the rain to change over to snow during this mid-week gradual transition to colder weather; especially, in the interior sections of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast as the last low pressure system passes through the region.
